What is the Cadana Card?
Cadana offers a Virtual USD Visa Card to contractors for online spending. It is a debit card that can be funded directly from the Cadana balance and used for personal expenses.
How much does the Cadana Card cost?
Cadana charges a one-time card creation fee of $5 and an additional $1 monthly maintenance fee.
Where is the Cadana Card Available?
The Cadana Card is available globally except in the jurisdictions outlined in our Card Holder Prohibition.
What is the Cadana Card Verification Process?
To be eligible for the Cadana Card, you need to have completed:
Your ID verification
Your address verification
Have a verified phone number
For Nigerian users, your BVN is required at the time of card creation to proceed.
Please note that we pass all the gathered KYC documentation to our card provider. However, the final decision to create a card rests with them. In some cases, they might request additional information, such as a different form of ID. Those situations will be handled on a case-by-case basis by support.
How long does card creation take?
Most cards are created within 24 hours unless further information is required for KYC as described above.
Can I request multiple cards?
Currently, there is a limit of one card per user.
Can I freeze my card?
Yes, you can freeze or unfreeze the card at any time from both the web and mobile application.
Where can I use the Cadana Card?
The Cadana Card is powered by the Visa network and can be used anywhere Visa debit is accepted. The card can be used on popular merchants such as Netflix, Apple, Disney, Amazon, and more.
We advise users to spend primarily on USD merchants. When spending in non-USD currencies, the exchange rates are set by Visa, and Cadana has no control over them.
The usage of the card may be restricted in certain cases based on our partner's requirements. Please note that the following transactions and merchants may not be supported:
Automated fuel dispensers (AFD)
Money transfers
Purchases or loads of stored value cards (POI funding transactions)
Gambling or betting transactions, including lotteries and online casinos
Jewelry, watch, clock, or silverware stores
Financial institutions (debt repayments or merchandise purchases)
Investment firms, dealers, or brokers
Horse racing, dog racing, and non-sport internet gaming
Quasi-cash transactions (e.g., crypto brokers or trading platforms)
Manual or automated cash disbursements, including ATM withdrawals
Purchases of precious stones, metals, watches, or jewelry
Dating services
Is there a limit on my card spend?
Yes, there is a limit of USD 10,000 on your card spend per month.
How would refunds reflect on my card?
Refund processing times can vary. Once the merchant has completed their process, it may take 14 business days or more for the refund to reflect on your Cadana Card.
What happens in the case of a chargeback?
You can file one chargeback request per month, with a $30 chargeback fee applicable prior to processing the dispute.
What happens in case of failed transactions?
To prevent fraud, if your card fails three transactions due to insufficient balance, it will be blocked. In such cases, please reach out to support for further assistance.
Why was my transaction declined?
There are a few reasons why your transaction may have been declined when using your Cadana Card:
Insufficient balance (three failed attempts will block your card)
You have reached your spending limit ($5,000 monthly load and spend)
The merchant category is restricted
Incorrect information entered on the merchant website
Declined for security reasons (by Cadana or the card issuer)
Your card is frozen or blocked
The merchant does not accept Visa or debit cards
The merchant does not accept cross-border transactions
The transaction was blocked by Visa’s screening process
