What is an FIRC?
Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC) is a document that serves as proof of an inward remittance, that is, a money transfer sent to India from abroad. If you have received a foreign currency payment in India (such as a contract payment), you can get an e-FIRC certificate or credit advice as official evidence of that payment.
An e-FIRC can be issued only by AD Category-I banks (Authorised Dealer Banks) that are authorized to process such transactions under the law.
How to request an FIRC?
Cadana works with local payment partners and banks to make the transfers or deposits into the contractor's local account when they are paid.
To request an FIRC, check the Request Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC) box when you are making an INR transfer.
Once received, our team will email you within 14 calendar days all the relevant details. Our partner provides detailed instructions about the documents that the contractor needs to file with the relevant authority in order to obtain the FIRC.
Note: Cadana does not cover any fees associated with acquiring a FIRC document.
