How to use an authenticator app for Two-factor (2FA) authentication

Objective: This article is a guide on how to use an authenticator app for 2FA using the Cadana web app. Note that disabling a linked authenticator app from your 2FA set up automatically requires you to use email verification as two-factor authentication.

Steps to set up 2FA with an authenticator app

• On your dashboard, click on your name and Cadana UserTag at the top right corner.

• Tap on Profile settings

• Select Security and Privacy tab

• Scroll down to look for Two factor Authentication and click on the Enable button begin set up 

• You will receive a prompt to download Google Authenticator, Authy Authenticator or 1Password on your device.

• Download the Google Authenticator, Authy Authenticator or 1Password App on your Mobile Phone or Tablet to continue.
• Click on Confirm
• To enable two-factor authentication, scan the QR code with your Authenticator App on your mobile or tablet to linl and enter the 6-digit verification code 

• Select Enable 2FA to finish setup

Steps to disable 2FA with an authenticator app

• On your dashboard, click on your name and Cadana UserTag at the top right corner.
• Tap on Profile settings
• Select Security and Privacy tab
• Click on the Disable button by Two factor Authentication to initiate the turn off.
• You will receive a prompt to enter the 6- digit code from the linked authenticator app on your mobile. 
• Enter the 6- digit code to confirm the linked authenticator app.
• Click on Disable 2FA to finish the setting down.
