How to use an authenticator app for Two-factor (2FA) authentication

Objective: This article is a guide on how to use an authenticator app for 2FA using the Cadana mobile app. Note that, disabling a linked authenticator app from your 2FA set up automatically requires you to use email verification as two-factor authentication.

Steps to set up function

• On the Cadana app, Tap on Settings

• Scroll down, search for and select Security and Privacy

• Select the toggle key by Two factor Authentication to begin set up.

• You will receive a prompt to download Google Authenticator, Authy Authenticator or 1Password on your device.

• Download the Google Authenticator, Authy Authenticator or 1Password App on your Mobile Phone or Tablet to continue.
• Select Continue
• Authorize set up by scanning the QR code with your Google authenticator app or Select Use Code Instead to copy and enter the code (setup key)

• Enter the 6- digit code to sync it.
• Select Enable 2FA to finish setup

Steps to disable function

• On the Cadana app, Tap on Settings
• Scroll down, search for and select Security and Privacy
• Tap on the toggle key by Two factor Authentication to disable it.

• You will receive a prompt to enter the 6- digit code from the linked authenticator app on your mobile. 

• Enter the 6- digit code to confirm linked auth app.
• Tap on Disable 2FA to finish the setting down.
